What’s the best phone for texting in 2011?

Samsung Texto

Many people ask the question of what phone is the best for texting as mobiles are now more than just phones. most young people rely on texting to keep in touch. It’s an economical way for arranging meetings or keeping up on all the gossip.

Best phones for texting have the qwerty keyboard.

There’s loads of different phones that are good for texting but we think the best ones are those with a qwerty keyboard. While the smartphones can have touchscreen QWERTY keyboards we think there’s nothing quite like have a hard keyboard for when you type.

At the moment Blackberries are dropping substantially in price, ever since RIM announced their move to the Android operating system the prices of the current models have dropped like a stone so there’s some great deals around. But there are negatives with the Blackberry with running costs, it’s not just a question of slipping in the cheapest texting deal SIM around.

HTC Cha Cha is good for texting.

At the moment the new HTC Cha Cha is in the running for the best texting phone for 2011. It’s a great smartphone with lots of potential as it runs on the Google Android OS. It is a GSM Quadband smartphone so will run on all the UK networks apart from 3 mobile – which is of course a 3G only network. we like the slight bend in the case which really aid that 2 thumb text typing and allows for quick messaging. It’s also designed specifically for social networking with fast access keys for status updates and sharing. The 5 megapixel camera is also pretty good for those picture sharing situations.

While the HTC Cha Cha comes pretty close to being our choice for the best mobile for texting in 2011, it just did not quite make it. Our choice for the title of best texting phone of 2011 goes to a Samsung  model – the Texto. It’s due for release in the UK on 13th September and we think it’s going to be a big hit with those looking for a SIM free text phone.

Is the Samsung Texto the best phone for texting?

The Samsung Texto is ideally priced at the mass market at just under £70.00. The reason we’ve chosen this phone is it’s dual SIM capabilities. This means you can run two networks off the same phone and with a bit of careful planning you should get the best deals of talk time and text time and save on your running costs.

The phone is built with social in mind and has easy access to Facebook, twitter, instant messenger and a number of the popular web based email accounts.  The phone has a full qwerty keyboard making those text communications fast to do.

At the price this is a great brand name dual SIM mobile. The fact it’s dual SIM means it’s not going to be widely available on the High Street mobile phone shops. You may get them in the big superstores or catalogue shops like Argus. But few mobile phone shops stock SIM free phones and they are particularly adverse to dual SIM phones.

With it releasing in mid September it’s been ideally released for the build up to the Christmas market and I can see this mobile phone being a top seller this Christmas. It’s currently available for pre-order and I’d recommend this as it’s sure to sell out quickly.

A minimalist text phone is the Metro.

For those who like the minimalist look then a good buy for texting is the Metro. It’s a small stylish swivel screen phone with a qwerty keyboard. It’s an ideal phone to hang from your belt and also has the dual SIM functionality which can really help save on bills by maximising the deals on offer from different networks.

In conclusion we don’t think that the best phone for texting has been released yet – but it’s only a few short days away from being available.
