5 top smartphones to start of 2012

Mirach smartpohneAnother new year is well and truly under-way. It’s a good time to take a look and see what are some of the best android smartphones currently available from phonelingo.co.uk. There’s been a few new models released over the last couple of months or so and this is my top 5 recommended smartphones.

The list of androids below is not in any particular order of preference or of release date. What I hope this list of favorite 5 mobile phones will do is give you an indication of what is on offer. All the top 5 smartphones are SIM free – in fact they are all also dual SIM – and they are totally factory unlocked so you can use an network card you want.

All the phones I recommend below run the android 2.3 (Gingerbread) software as I think 2012 is a time to move on from the Android 2.1 and 2.2. As this year progresses we’ll be dropping all the phones and tablets that are not running Android 2.3 at a minimum.

Top 5 smartphones for 2012.

CyberStar 3G android smartphone.

I start off the list with a very nice looking Android 2.3  3G smartphone. Increasingly we are using our mobiles in a number of ways and almost as an entertainment centre. Reading books, listening to music and watching videos – not to mention surfing the web – is now pretty commonplace on our phones. It’s a way to keep ourselves occupied on those long commuter journeys. The CyberStar is ideal for this with its 4.3 inch multi touch capacitive touhscreen.

There’s lots of ways to connect up as it has wifi and can run both 3G cards and 2G cards simultaneously. It also has a pretty respectable 5MP rear facing camera with a standard low resolution front facing camera.

It’s a nice slim phone that i expect to sell well as this year progresses.

Zodiac 3G android smartphone.

The Zodiac is the other 3G smartphone that I think is going to be a hit in 2012. It’s got a slightly smaller screen – 4 inches –  than the CyberStar but still looks a very nice stylish phone. This smartphone is also dual sim and can run a 3G and a 2G card at the same time. There’s also the wifi connection to give you fast and affordable internet access through hotspots.

The camera on the Zodiac is not quite as high resolution as the CyberStar but is still a good 3.2MP for the rear facing camera and standard resolution for the front facing camera. The phone comes equipped with inbuilt GPS so you need never get lost.

Astrum 2G smartphone.

The first of the 2G or GSM network phones that will be a big hit in 2012.  This big screen android phone has a 4.3 inch touchscreen. It’s not multi-touch in order to keep the price down but it does come equipped with 3D for Android.

Again it comes as dual sim and with wifi connectivity. This time the inbuilt rear facing camera picks up all the detail with an impressive 8MP resolution the front facing camera has a resolution of 2MP. There’s SD card support for up to 16GB so you can save all those pictures and videos with ease. This really is a high quality camera-phone.

Nightfall 2G smartphone.

The Nightfall is a relatively new phone but is already notching up the sales. It’s another excellent value android camera phone with a 8MP rear facing camera and a standard resolution front facing camera.  Dual sim and wifi means it easy to keep in touch and surf the web.

The Nightfall comes with a capacitive multi-touch 3.5 inch touchscreen which make navigation easy to do.

Mirach GSM smartphone.

Not everyone wants big screens and flashy cameras. They are happy with something small and sleek but is still a powerful android smartphone. One of our lowest priced smartphones – the Mirach – is proving to be a popular choice.

The Mirach is a great little phone that offers Android power and has wifi connectivity and dual sim capabilities. If you want a small phone to slip in your bag or pocket and not too concerned with low resolution camera functions then this is your option.

Those are my top 5 smartphones for the early part of 2012. I’m pretty confident that they will all sell well over the coming months. There is one other phone which is about to be updated and re-released and that is the MasDroid. We currently have it as an android  2.2 but it’s just been upgraded to android 2.3 and had some hardware updates to increase its power. It will be released shortly.

I hope you enjoy my small selection but take a browse around the site for more great value low cost android mobiles.
